Unit 6; Google Maps - 1/6

Although I could not find myself in Google's new application "Street View," I could find all the places where I usually go to in a better view. "Street View" does what it says, it allows the user to view the streets of selected and certain places where street view is available. Although it isn't a live view of the street, it shows pictures taken in advance to show the user what the intersection/street has to offer. When I view my home with the new application, I can see not only my house, my car, etc. but I can also take a 360 degree view of my whole neighbourhood. Even though "Street View" has it's advantages, it could pose as a serious privacy offense. Google has seen this, and will blur the faces of unknown people and the license plate of cars to protect the personal values of the person. Personally, I think this will not help the privacy other people because permission has not been asked. I'll automatically assume that someone I do not know is stalking the places where I go. This breaks the privacy of the person because it exposes the location. Stalkers could use this information and study their traveling patterns and use it to their advantage.
