This kind of scare campaign is effective because it shows the reality of what happens when a person would drink a can of soda. It effectively shows how much fat and portrays it by actually putting 10 pounds of ft into a glass and drinking it. The add makes me think twice about drinking unhealthy beverages. I wouldn't say it'll make me a healthier person but it definitely would make me refrain from drinking soda and other sugary beverages for a while. I'm starting to realize the severity of the large rate of obesity growing in North America. It must be a large issue if the government is making advertisements about obese people. Hopefully, powerful and scary advertisements bring some sense into those who don't really notice their big problem. When I watched the video, I had it coming when I saw the man drinking the jelly which was representing the fat that is coming from the soda we drink a day. I would admit that it actually made me refrain from drinking soda for a while. If they were raise the prices for unhealthy snacks and drinks, there would be a dramatic decline in sales because I don't think would be spending much money for food that would only be used to give a slight energy boost.

I feel that sometimes, advertisements, commercials, and other various forms of media trying to portray an example of what they're trying to show, go over board in their editing. For example, a picture like this - a shoe produced by nike - is trying to portray the usage of the shoe, on how the shoe will enhance the performance of the sport you are doing. By adding the editing, it shows how over-the-top the expectations are. These effects attract buyers. I really don't find their editing disturbing because they're trying to make us consumers interested in their product. Basically every edit goes towards the progression of sales. The better and over-the-top while still maintaining a sense of reality can attract a numerous amount of buyers, resulting in a big amount of cash at the end of the day. I think that some of the celebrities are showing how natural beauty can be beautiful too. That some people, or most, don't need to cake their face up with make-up. I think it's a good think because they're giving those who think make-up makes them look good, a chance to realize that make-up doesn't mean your beautiful. I think that the idea of using "normal" people in the magazines and runways is weird. Not everyone is that skinny, and not everyone looks the same. It's just another ploy to show that their way is the "best." That if you look like them, you'd be a better looking person. When I look at these actors and models, I see people manipulated to show off a look that everyone might not like or can follow.

Yes, games have evolved enough to the point that they are beneficial to you, rather than damaging because they've actually go the user into the game with motion sensors and everything. Despite this, video games actually helps you the user even without participating in the motions of the game itself. It improves your vision, allowing you to see smaller objects in a cluttered or crowded place. It could help you focus, especially those with ADHD, to get a high score, focus is needed to obtain and maintain that "high score." This could show in test scores where they focus on their test and studies to help them do well. Although all the "wasted" time playing could have gone to studying, games just help you focus not to improve your intellect. they are still considered video games because games are something for entertainment. Maybe the user wants to stay fit, or play sports without having to go far to play, physically active games provide the exercise need will still maintaining the entertainment in it.
Support that games are good for you.

I feel that the dove campaign for real beauty is really helping women realize that real beauty lies within. Not the outer appearance because you would have to look a certain way to feel "beautiful" in the media sort of way. I think that this campaign helps raise the self-esteem for many, many women around the world providing that their product is healthy for the skin. They want women to feel good about themselves and not to be so caught up with the celebrity hype. The Axe Effect Campaign, I find is just a plot to sell products to men. Since Dove and Axe are in the same company, they would get more profit selling to both genders. I think that the mother company is trying to help make people feel good about themselves through their smell and skin, the healthy way. I feel that the Axe campaign is just an ad to make men, buy their products. The Axe campaign is there to help men get rid of the smelly body odors with most women hate. With this Axe campaign, smelling good (not necessarily say that their products smell good) attracts the ladies, or not smelling like sweat. Yes, I do think that a 'parent' company should have some responsibility to ensure all of their different sectors uphold the same sort of beliefs and values because their values - what they show on their commercials - is what makes people want to buy them, along with their alright smelling soaps, sprays and what not. They really have one main value, that I think they see, and that is to make people feel good about themselves, to try and raise some peoples self-esteems. By showing them that real beauty is from within and that smell better than sweat can attract the right people, or the people that you want, they showing their values in different views, even though it might not seem like it.
